1442. Deputy Alan Kelly asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration further to Parliamentary Question No. 688 of 6 May 2026, if he has received the relevant information from Garda authorities to answer this PQ. [43838/26]

I refer to Parliamentary Question No 688 of 6 May 2026 where you sought: “ the number of van-personnel carrier courses that were held for Gardaí within DMR north division in 2025 and to-date in 2026; and the number of Gardaí that underwent each of those courses, in tabular form."

You will recall that the information could not be obtained in the time available, and I undertook to contact you again when the requested information was received from the Garda authorities.

The Garda authorities have provided the below table which shows the number of van personnel carrier courses that were held for Gardaí within the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) in 2025 and as of 6 May 2026 and the number of Gardaí from DMR North Division that undertook van personnel carrier courses.

I have been advised that each van personnel carrier course delivered by the Garda College comprises three members and places offered on these courses within the DMR are allocated on a regional basis by the Assistant Commissioner, DMR. Therefore, places on courses may comprise several divisions with the DMR Region and may not be exclusively for members within DMR North.
