Deputy Martin Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the steps he will take to find the 1.3% levy imposed by the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation from within his Department's budget; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation has written to my Department regarding a proposed expenditure levy to be applied in 2027. The proposed levy on my Department will be €26 million and is due to apply in 2027.

My Department is currently considering the implications of this levy as part of ongoing 2027 budgetary negotiations with the Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.
