888. Deputy James O'Connor asked the Minister for Education and Youth the position regarding the assessment process of an application for additional school accommodation (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [42913/26]

I can confirm my Department is in receipt of an Additional School Accommodation application from the school referred to by the Deputy.

As you will be aware, the Department published in January 2026, the €7.55 billion NDP Sectoral Investment Plan for the Education and Youth Sectors for the period 2026 to 2030. This NDP Sectoral Plan involves a very strong emphasis on maximising existing capacity and prioritisation of school building projects to meet the most urgent needs.

I can confirm that the current and future needs of the school in question will be reviewed in the context of the Department's NDP priorities.
