The development of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) across Ireland's National Road Network is supported by the LDV (Light duty vehicle) EV Infrastructure grant scheme programme, funded by the Department of Transport and delivered through Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
The scheme provides financial support for the installation of high-powered recharging pools along key sections of the national roads, prioritising fast and ultra-fast charging for EV drivers.
155 sites are being supported through the LDV1, LDV2 and LDV3 Grant Schemes as part of a multi phases approach with:
• 9 Sites currently under construction.
• 98 Sites have secured the required grid connection agreement with ESBN.
• 25 Sites completed construction.
• 14 Sites that are currently operational.
The scheme is grant aided by the Department of Transport and is designed to ensure balanced coverage across 5,300km of National Road Network.
