The State Examinations Commission (SEC) has responsibility for the delivery of the State examinations, including the preparation of all examination papers and test instruments. The Department engages regularly with the SEC on a range of matters relating to the examinations, including recent concerns raised about the Leaving Certificate higher level mathematics paper.

In relation to the correspondence received, I can confirm that a response has issued.

In view of the SEC’s statutory responsibility for the delivery of State examinations, your query has been forwarded to them so that they can provide a more detailed response in regard to the Leaving Certificate higher level mathematics paper.
