Brownshill Dolmen, Co. Carlow, is a national monument (National Monument No. 613) in the ownership of the Minister, and as such, it is managed by the Office of Public Works (OPW). Any proposed research, such as a georadar study, would need to be considered in the first instance by the National Monuments Service of my Department, and the OPW in terms of the research objectives and outcomes, and consideration of the benefits in terms of the continued protection, conservation and preservation of the national monument.
