Alan Dillon Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment Fine Gael

I propose to take Questions Nos. 94, 97, 98, 99, 100, 101 and 102 together.

The litter.ie website was developed and maintained by the Litter Monitoring Body under the contract for the delivery of the National Litter Pollution Monitoring System (NLPMS).

Having been in operation for over 20 years, the website had become outdated and no longer met current Government standards for the publication and accessibility of information. It was therefore decided to discontinue the standalone website and migrate relevant information to gov.ie, providing a more accessible and sustainable platform for publishing NLPMS reports and related information.

Before the contractors decommissioned the litter.ie website in early June, all reports, datasets and other material were transferred to the Department to ensure that no information was lost.

Information on the National Litter Pollution Monitoring System, including annual reports from 2021 onwards, is now available on the Department's website (www.gov.ie/en/department-of-climate-energy-and-the-environment/publications/national-litter-pollution-monitoring-system/ ). Reports and information that were previously available on litter.ie but have not been migrated to gov.ie have been retained by the Department and can be provided on request.

The Department will continue to make NLPMS reports and associated information publicly available through gov.ie, which is the central platform for Government publications and information.
