Health Service Executive

546. Deputy George Lawlor asked the Minister for Health if she will intervene to ensure that an urgent diagnostic CT scan for cancer is provided for a person (details supplied); her views on whether it is acceptable that urgent cancer diagnosis would be dependent on payment of a fee which is beyond the capacity of the family concerned; the steps she intends to take to ensure this scan is provided; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the deputy directly, as soon as possible.
