Deputy Ciarán Ahern asked the Minister for Climate, Energy and the Environment if he will publish the general directives he has laid down pursuant to section 20 (4) of the Turf Development Act 1946, in accordance with which the power of Bord na Móna to develop bog that has been substantially cleared of turf must be exercised; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department does not maintain a record of general directives laid down pursuant to section 20 (4) of the Turf Development Act 1946 since the introduction of this provision.

If the Deputy is aware of a specific general directive made under Section 20 (4) that has not been published, I would ask that this be brought to the attention of my Department for appropriate action.
