407. Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh asked the Minister for Health if there are publicly funded health facilities in the State currently equipped, staffed and trained to provide inpatient trauma-stabilisation and specialist treatment for severe dissociative identity disorder; if not, the way in which the HSE clinically justifies the repatriation of a patient with this diagnosis from a healthcare facility outside the State providing care through a cross-border arrangement; and if she will make a statement on the matter. 409. Deputy Rose Conway-Walsh asked the Minister for Health the procedure for when cross-border therapy funded by the HSE due to lack of expertise in this State is terminated before completion and a patient is repatriated; the way in which the HSE can then provide the care for this repatriated patient when the expertise does not exist here to treat the diagnosis; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Mary Butler Minister of State at the Department of Health Fianna Fáil

I propose to take Questions Nos. 407 and 409 together.

As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond directly to the Deputy as soon as possible.
