Comment on this
In the context of the forthcoming EU Presidency, security rests primarily with the Department of Justice Home Affairs and Migration and An Garda Síochána.
No Defence Forces personnel have been “placed on-call for duty” thus far in the Defence Forces support to An Garda Síochána during the EU Presidency. All tasked personnel will, as normal, have their pay and allowances administered by their Brigade/Formation. Accordingly, they can expect pay associated with the EU Presidency to be processed and received within the normal timelines.
In the Defence Forces, Enlisted Personnel are paid weekly and Officers are paid monthly. Allowances are processed in next pay-run after the duties have been approved and notified to Payroll Administration. Payment for duties in relation the EU Presidency will follow the standard payment process.
