Emer Higgins Minister of State at the Department of Children, Disability and Equality Fine Gael

The HSE provides a range of assisted living services, including home support services, to support individuals to maximise their capacity to live full and independent lives.

Home support services are provided to both children and adults with a wide range of disabilities from physical and sensory disabilities to intellectual disabilities and autism. Funding was provided under Budget 2026 to support the delivery of an additional 103,800 home support hours this year, with almost 4m hours to be delivered in total to over 7,000 disabled people.

As this question refers to service matters, I have asked the Health Service Executive (HSE) to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
