Government recently approved revisions to a number of Heads of the Heat (Networks and Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2024 which, as a result of extensive stakeholder engagement, had been identified as being necessary to strengthen the Bill.

The revised General Scheme of the Bill has been published on the Government website and may be viewed here:

I intend shortly to request that the Bill be submitted for Pre Legislative Scrutiny. In the meantime, officials from my Department are continuing to draft the Bill with support from the Office of the Parliamentary Counsel and other key stakeholders. On completion of that process, Government approval to publish the Bill will be sought.
