The school referred to was approved funding under the Department’s Additional School Accommodation Scheme for a project providing three mainstream classrooms, one special education tuition room, one graphics room, one technology room with a preparation area and one project store. This project is devolved to the school authority for delivery.
I can confirm that department officials await the Stage 1 (preliminary design) report. This will be comprehensively reviewed from a technical and cost perspective once received. All projects, including this one, undergo the necessary due diligence outlined in the Infrastructure Guidelines.
The current status of all ASA projects is listed on a county by county basis at www.gov.ie/en/department-of-education/services/additional-accommodation-scheme/. This is updated on a regular basis to reflect project progress through the various stages of capital appraisal, site acquisition, design, planning, tender and construction.
