I can confirm that the school referred to by the Deputy was approved to enter my department's pipeline of projects under the Additional School Accommodation scheme. The project will provide a two-classroom special educational needs base, one art room with a project store, and refurbishment of science labs with one preparation area. The project is devolved to Laois Offaly Education and Training Board for delivery.

Department officials are awaiting submission of the Stage 1 preliminary design report. Once this report is submitted, it will be subject to a comprehensive technical and cost review. All projects, including this one, will undergo the necessary due diligence outlined in the Infrastructure Guidelines. The Department will continue to actively engage with LOETB to provide practical advice and assistance on this much needed project.

The current status of all ASA projects is listed on a county by county basis at www.gov.ie/en/department-of-education/services/additional-accommodation-scheme/. This is updated on a regular basis to reflect project progress through the various stages of capital appraisal, site acquisition, design, planning, tender and construction.
