Deputy Eoin Ó Broin asked the Minister for Education and Youth further to Parliamentary Question No. 291 of 18 June 2026, if an update is available in relation to the SEN repurposing project for the school; if funding has been approved; and if she will make a statement on the matter. I can confirm to the Deputy, that my department is in receipt of an application from the school in question in relation to repurposing works for establishing a Special education needs (SEN) classroom in the school.

My officials have been engaging with the school authorities recently and have requested further information from the school in question. As soon as this is provided by the school authorities, my officials expect this project to progress to delivery.

Department officials remain available at all stages to work with the school authorities to progress this matter to delivery and provide any support required.
