I propose to take Questions Nos. 1520 to 1522, inclusive, together.
Culture Ireland is a unit of my Department with responsibility for the promotion of Irish Arts internationally. In doing so, they work with Irish artists, international presenting partners and annually funded bodies to bring high quality Irish arts, across all artforms, to global audiences.
The number of applications submitted for regular round funding and the number of grants offered from 2022 to 2025 is detailed in the following table:
It is not possible to accurately determine the number of previously successful applicants who were subsequently unsuccessful in grant rounds on a yearly basis, due reporting limitations within the current application management system.
Feedback on application outcomes is available to applicants on request. These requests can be sent to the Culture Ireland unit at info@cultureireland.gov.ie for response.
An appeal may be made by an applicant if the applicant considers that the process for reviewing their application was not adhered to. An appeal must be made within 5 working days of the date on the decision email. Appeals can be submitted by email to the Appeals Officer at info@cultureireland.gov.ie. The applicant will receive an acknowledgement email from the Culture Ireland Appeals Officer within 5 working days. The appeal will then be considered and a decision will issue to the applicant within 20 working days following the acknowledgement. Further information in relation to this appeals process can be found on the Culture Ireland website here - https://www.cultureireland.ie/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/Cultur_Eireann_Proiseas_Achomhairc_maidir_le_Maoiniu_Rialta.pdf.
