My Department operates two capital funding programmes for sport, namely the Community Sport Facilities Fund (CSFF) and the Large-Scale Sport Infrastructure Fund (LSSIF).
The Community Sport Facilities Fund ( CSFF) is the primary means of providing Government funding to sport and community organisations at local, regional and national levels throughout the country. The fund aims to foster an integrated and planned approach to the development of sports and physical recreation facilities and assists the purchase of non-personal sports equipment.
In 2024 over a quarter of a billion euro was allocated to 3,045 community sports clubs and facilities under the 2023 round of the fund, representing the largest-ever investment in sports facilities in communities across Ireland.
CSFF allocations are only collated by my Department at county level. In the 2023 round, over €37 million was allocated to 423 sporting projects in County Dublin. Since 2018, over €73 million has been allocated to 1,045 sporting projects in County Dublin.
Details of all CSFF allocations are available on the Department's website at https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/collections/sports-capital-programme-allocations/.
Under the 2024 round of the LSSIF, €39.359 million was allocated to 4 projects in Dublin as follows:
Details of the LSSIF grant allocations for both rounds can be found at https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-culture-communications-and-sport/campaigns/large-scale-sport-infrastructure-fund-lssif/.
