An Coimisiún Pleanála is the national independent statutory body with responsibility for the determination of planning appeals and direct applications for strategic infrastructure and other developments under Planning and Development Act 2024, as amended, and certain other Acts

The budget allocation and staff numbers for An Coimisiún Pleanála, formerly An Bord Pleanála, for the years requested are set out in the table below. The 2026 staffing figures are correct as at end June 2026.

My Department has continued to support the organisation through increased funding and staffing resources in recent years to strengthen its capacity to deliver its statutory functions.
