1742. Deputy Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage for an update on the progress of the regeneration of the Noonan's Road and surrounding streets regeneration. [57554/26]

A proposal regarding the regeneration of Noonan's Road and surrounding streets was received by my Department in March and is currently being reviewed. The proposal includes the demolition and new build of units on Noonan's Road/St. Finbarr's Road alongside the refurbishment/retrofitting of a number of units on Dean St. and Fort St.

I understand Cork City Council has progressed the demolition of 2 existing blocks (16 units in each) on Noonan's Road with a contractor currently mobilising on site with works to be completed in the coming months. Cork City Council also expect to complete the demolition of a 3rd block on St. Finbarr's Road before the end of the year.

My Department will continue to engage with Cork City Council on its project proposal.
