1985. Deputy Mark Wall asked the Minister for Social Protection the estimated cost of increasing the child support payment by €10, €12 or €14 for children under 12, and by €18, €20 or €22 for children 12 and over. [56675/26]

The estimated annual cost of the increases in the Child Support Payment are outlined below.  It should be noted the above costings are based on estimated numbers of recipients and are subject to change in context of emerging trends and associated revision of the number of recipients for 2026 and beyond.

The estimated cost of increasing the Child Support Payment by €10 for children under 12 is €84.5m.

The estimated cost of increasing the Child Support Payment by €12 for children under 12 is €101.4m.

The estimated cost of increasing the Child Support Payment by €14 for children under 12 is €118.3m.

The estimated cost of increasing the Child Support Payment by €18 for children 12 and over is €108.3m.

The estimated cost of increasing the Child Support Payment by €20 for children 12 and over is €120.34m.

The estimated cost of increasing the Child Support Payment by €22 for children 12 and over is €132.4m.
