I note the recent announcement of redundancies at the company referred to, which brings significant uncertainty for the employees concerned and their families.
My priority is to ensure that affected employees have access to the information, supports and services they may need during this period. My Department provides a comprehensive range of supports and employment services to assist throughout this process.
Notification of collective redundancy from the company concerned was received by my Department on 16 July. An official from my Department contacted the company on the same day, so as to provide the affected staff with information on redundancy entitlements, available supports and employment services.
Employer Relations Officers from my Department have been assigned in Dublin, Cork and Clare and have engaged with representatives to arrange information sessions with impacted employees. These officers will act as a single point of contact, providing tailored guidance before, during and after the transition.
A team from my Department stands ready to meet with the workforce, virtually or in person, to provide information on available supports and to support them into alternative employment, or to access appropriate education, training and development options should redundancy occur.
My Department will continue to monitor the situation closely and engage with representatives and affected employees to ensure appropriate supports and services are available throughout this process.
