Under Section 61 of the Civil Registration Act 2004 a person may apply for a copy or a certified copy of a record contained in the register of births, deaths or marriages. A prescribed fee is payable in advance of any certificate issuing.

Where a person attends at the General Registrar Office in Roscommon or a local civil registration office, cash, card payment or postal order are accepted.

Where a person applies online or at the research room in Cork Street, payment is by card only.

I trust this clarifies the matter for the Deputy.
