I propose to take Questions Nos. 188 and 190 together.
The EU Just Transition Fund has committed a total of €169m through Government and EU co-funding to support the communities most negatively affected by the move away from fossil fuels and the cessation of commercial peat extraction. Ireland’s designated Just Transition Territory include the counties of Laois, Longford, Offaly, Roscommon, Westmeath, and municipal districts of Ballinasloe (Co. Galway), Athy and Clane-Maynooth (Co. Kildare), and Carrick-on-Suir and Thurles (Co. Tipperary).
Although projects are not categorised based on Local Municipal District as requested in the Question, I have included a breakdown of all funding awarded to projects based fully or partially in the two eligible municipal districts in County Kildare. To date, €11.7m has been awarded to 15 projects operating exclusively in County Kildare and €30.9m has been allocated to 9 projects at least partially based in County Kildare. This amounts to €42.6m allocated to 24 projects partially or fully based in County Kildare. Further details on the funding awarded to these 24 projects are provided in the attached table.
