Jim O'Callaghan Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration Fianna Fáil

I refer to Parliamentary Question No. 131 of 17 June 2026 where you sought: "To ask the Minister for Justice; Home Affairs and Migration the number of new marked and unmarked Garda cars and vans added to the Garda dog unit fleet in each of the years 2024 to 2025 and to-date in 2026; the number of vehicles withdrawn from the fleet during same period, in tabular form."

As you will recall, I sought the information from the Garda authorities and undertook to contact you again once the information was to hand.

The tables below have been provided to me by the Garda authorities and outlines the number of Cars and Vans allocated and removed from the Dog unit in 2024, 2025, and to date in 2026.

Dog Unit Vehicle Removals

The purchase and allocation of vehicles by An Garda Síochána is made on the basis of identified operational demands, the availability of resources and is reviewed on a continual basis.
