Deputy Aindrias Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the number of farmers who availed of the succession planning advice grant in each year since its introduction; the total expenditure involved; the number of completed farm transfers arising from participation in this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Succession Planning Advice Grant was introduced in September 2023 to support farmers in the cost of procuring accredited professional advice on succession planning. Eligible applicants are reimbursed 50% of vouched costs, excluding VAT, to a maximum €1,500.
Since its implementation, a total of 431 applicants have been reimbursed under this grant to date, broken down as follows:
Tailte Eireann, under the aegis of the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, manages the Land Register and the Registry of Deeds. Details in respect of land transfers and ownership in Ireland are held by this agency.
