Disability Services

Summary

The Minister of State referred the question about dementia patients’ access to disability services to the HSE for a direct response.

3104. Deputy Paul Donnelly asked the Minister for Health given that the HSE recognises dementia as not a normal part of ageing, the reason people living with dementia are routinely referred to older persons' services rather than being assessed for disability services based on their individual needs; and if the Government will commit to ending this inequity.
