The Minister referred the Deputy’s request for maternity-unit first-time birth and antenatal-class figures to the HSE for a direct response.

Deputy Marie Sherlock asked the Minister for Health the number of first-time mothers who gave birth in Irish maternity units in each of the years 2022 to 2025 and to date in 2026, per maternity unit; the number of women who attended antenatal classes in the hospitals and units in the same years, per maternity unit; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
