The Government remains committed to the implementation of the National Cancer Strategy 2017-2026, supported by continued investment in cancer services and the reforms being delivered under Sláintecare.

The National Cancer Strategy 2017-2026 Implementation Report 2024, which tracks progress across the Strategy's recommendations and key performance indicators, is currently being finalised. The National Cancer Strategy 2017-2026 Implementation Report 2025 is also being prepared, and both reports will be finalised prior to publication.

The upcoming evaluation of the National Cancer Strategy will be informed by these Implementation Reports, which annually track progress in delivering the Strategy's objectives. The reports will provide an important evidence base for assessing the overall impact and effectiveness of the Strategy and for identifying areas where further progress may be required.
