The Department of Health owns no properties, leases one OPW building, and referred vacant healthcare estate details to the HSE.

Deputy Pa Daly asked the Minister for Health the number of publicly owned buildings that were vacant on the latest date available, broken down by purpose and/or last previous use; the length of time each property has been vacant; the reason for vacancy in each case; the amount spent to maintain the property since it was first left vacant in each of the years 2020 to date, in tabular form; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Department of Health does not own any properties. The Department of Health occupies one building, Block 1 Miesian Plaza, 50 - 58 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin, D02, as a tenant of the OPW.

As the Health Service Executive is responsible for the management of the public healthcare property estate, I have asked the HSE to respond directly to you in relation to this matter.
