Summary

The Minister referred the Deputy’s questions on food premises inspections and hygiene findings to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.

4019. Deputy Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire asked the Minister for Health the number of premises serving food that were inspected by the FSA in 2025 and 2026; the number that were deemed unhygienic; and the number of premises serving food in total are potentially subject to inspections, by local authority area. The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has overall responsibility for the enforcement of food law in Ireland; therefore, as this is an operational matter, I have asked the FSAI to reply directly to the Deputy.
