The CLÁR programme provides funding through various measures for small-scale infrastructure projects in designated rural areas. In the past year, more than €14 million was approved for 238 projects, supporting community facilities, amenities, vehicles, and targeted assistance for island communities.

In total, 22 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) were received by Offaly County Council for CLAR 2026 Measure 1. The total value of these applications is almost €955,000.

The County Council then selected and prioritised the applications for submission to the Department for consideration.

The deadline for receipt of applications under Measure 1 was July 3rd, 2026.

12 applications were selected for onward submission to the Department. These applications amount to almost €571,000 and are currently under review by Department officials.

I expect to announce the successful applications under Measure 1 of CLÁR 2026 later this year.
