Darragh O'Brien Minister for Transport Fianna Fáil

My Department ensures that there is an appropriate focus on good procurement practice in the award of all contracts and that procedures are in place to ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines.

In 2025 the Department complied with the public procurement guidelines with the exception of two contracts in excess of €25,000 (exclusive of VAT) undertaken without a competitive process, totalling €125,199.58 (exclusive of VAT) .

Details regarding non-compliant procurements for 2026 will be published in the Department's return as part of the Appropriation Account in 2027.

Compliance with the procurement guidelines by the bodies under the aegis of my Department is a matter for the relevant bodies concerned. I will refer the Deputy's question to the bodies for direct reply. Please contact my private office if you do not receive a response within 10 working days.
