696. Deputy Brendan Smith asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Finance to give detailed consideration to the proposals outlined by a national organisation (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [55376/26]

In advance of the Budget, as Tánaiste and Minister for Finance I receive a large number of pre-budget submissions on a wide range of issues. All submissions are acknowledged by my Department on receipt.

I can confirm the pre-Budget submission to which the Deputy refers was received on Monday evening 6 July 2026, and an acknowledgment issued Tuesday morning 7 July 2026.

The contents will be considered in the context of the forthcoming Budget, however, as the Deputy will be aware, it is a longstanding practice of the Minister for Finance not to comment in advance of the Budget on any matters that might be the subject of Budget decisions.
