The escape of Red Hugh and the O'Neill brothers is an important event in the history of Dublin Castle and is featured in the guided tours of the site.

The Office of Public Works is considering ways in which this important historic event can be appropriately commemorated. To this end, the OPW is in discussions with Dublin City Council and the Red Hugh O'Donnell Association.
