The table below shows the number of teachers employed in primary and post-primary schools in County Clare from 2020/21 to 2025/26.

According to the latest published data from November 2025, 20.8 full-time equivalent (FTE) teaching posts or 2.1% of allocated teaching posts were unutilised at primary level in County Clare, and 9.9 FTE teaching posts or 1.8% of allocated teaching posts at post-primary level were unutilised.

Please note that the figures for post-primary do not include Education and Training Board (ETB) post-primary schools. As of November 2025, Limerick & Clare ETB post-primary schools had a vacancy rate of 0.3% or 2.6 unutilised FTE teaching posts
