Since 2020, my department has invested over €7 billion in our schools throughout the country under the National Development Plan, involving the completion of over 1,500 school building projects along with circa 4,300 small-scale improvement works to meet priority maintenance needs and advance energy efficiency and climate goal. This investment has delivered real benefits for school communities.

This year alone will see at least 1,000 projects under construction across a range of programmes including in relation to repurposing existing classroom accommodation to facilitate the opening of new special classes.

My department publishes extensive information on the school building programme. This includes the current status of all Large Scale and Additional Accommodation projects. This information is accessible at the following link (www.gov.ie) and is updated on a regular basis to reflect project progress through the various stages of capital appraisal, site acquisition, design, tender, construction and completion.

Due to the substantial volume of projects involved, it is not feasible to provide a separate detailed list of every capital project over €1 million funded or part-funded by my department since 2020. If the Deputy wishes to refine or narrow the scope of the request, my department will compile and provide the relevant information.
