As the Deputy is aware, office holders are bound by the Ethics in Public Office Acts 1995 and 2001 (Eleventh Edition). Any gift which exceeds €650 in value given to an office holder, or a spouse or civil partner or child, by virtue of his or her office, must be surrendered in accordance with this Act. Any such gift is required to be disclosed in the office holder's annual statement of registerable interests.

I can confirm that a register is maintained for gifts received by me in my role as Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport. There have been no gifts on that list since January 2025 that would exceed the €650 limit as outlined in the Ethics in Public Office Acts.

The maintenance of any registers of gifts, hospitality or other benefits by bodies under the aegis of my Department are operational matters for those bodies and not something for which I have direct day to day responsibility.
