Deputy John Connolly asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the percentage and number of new dwellings completed and first occupied since 1 January 2021 that have been fitted with solar photovoltaic (PV) panels (details supplied); whether his Department collects this information; whether the data is available through Building Energy Rating (BER) assessments or any other source; and whether the Department distinguishes between developer-built dwellings and self-build dwellings in recording compliance with NZEB requirements; if so, the percentage and number of homes in each category fitted with solar PV; and if he will make a statement on the matter. monitors and reports quarterly on Domestic Building Energy Ratings of existing and new dwellings, including BER and the renewable technologies used. The CSO has confirmed that the percentage of new dwellings completed since 2021 that have been fitted with solar photovoltaic (PV) panels is 15%.
