Departmental Schemes
1899. Deputy Brian Brennan asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage when will details of the defective block grant scheme be provided to Wexford County Council so as applications can be made by those affected in County Wexford. [62889/26]

The Remediation of Dwellings Damaged by the use of Defective Concrete Blocks Act 2022 as amended by the Act of 2025 underpins the Grant Scheme which provides grant funding to people whose homes have been affected by Defective Concrete Blocks (DCB).
The Scheme is currently open to applications in nine counties, namely Clare, Donegal, Limerick, Mayo, Sligo, Carlow and parts of the administrative areas of Wexford County Council, Fingal County Council and Meath County Council.
When new counties are designated my Department actively engages with the relevant local authority to help them to launch their schemes. This process has been ongoing with Wexford County Council culminating most recently with a meeting that took place on 4 September 2026 with my Department with a view to ensuring that Wexford County Council would be in a position to begin taking applications for the DCB Scheme. I am informed that Wexford County Council is now accepting applications to the DCB Scheme from affected homeowners in the designated parts of the administrative area of Wexford. Further, I understand that officials from Wexford County Council will shortly make contact with affected homeowners in Wexford regarding making an application to the Grant Scheme.
