State Pension Non-Contributory is a means-tested payment. Means taken into account when assessing entitlement include income from all sources, including foreign pensions, the value of any property other than a person's principal residence, and the value of any savings or investments held by the person or by their spouse, civil partner, or cohabitant.

Following a review of entitlement earlier this year, the person concerned was advised on 22 June 2026 that their State Pension Non-Contributory would be payable at the reduced weekly rate of €180.50, which includes the increase for Persons Aged 80 and Over of €10.00 per week. This rate is based on assessed weekly means of €147.49 arising primarily from his UK pension of £197.88 per week.

In addition, the person concerned is in receipt of an increase for Living Alone of €22.00 per week, a Telephone Support Allowance of €2.50 per week and the Fuel Allowance which is currently paid at the weekly rate of €38 during the winter months. The person also benefits from the Household Benefits Package, which includes a monthly contribution towards electricity costs and a free television licence.
