My department received an Illness Benefit application from the person concerned on 18 March 2026.
The application was awarded at a rate of €217.50 per week. This was a reduced rate of payment based on the person concerned being in receipt of a One Parent Family payment and being assessed with means of that amount. An electronic award letter was issued on 26 March 2026. The person concerned subsequently closed their Illness Benefit claim through MyWelfare on 31 July 2026 and no further medical certificates were submitted to my Department after this date.
I can also confirm that the person concerned has been in receipt of the One Parent Family payment since 04/10/2024. The rate of payment on this claim is €152.50 per week.
Domiciliary Care Allowance was awarded with effect from 01/03/2026. The rate of payment on this claim is €380.00 per month and all payments have been issued to date. Arrears totalling €1900.00 were issued on 21/07/2026 to cover the period from 01/04/2026 – 31/07/2026 inclusive.
Carer's Allowance was also awarded with effect from 30/04/2026 and all payments have been issued to date. The rate of payment on this claim is €135.00 per week. Arrears totaling €2430.00 were issued on 27/08/2026 to cover the period 30/04/2026 – 02/09/2026. Carer's Allowance has been awarded at half rate as the customer is in receipt of another Social Welfare payment.

I hope this clarifies the position for the Deputy.
