Deputy Erin McGreehan asked the Minister for Social Protection the number of applications for the State Pension (Contributory) and State Pension (Non-Contributory) in each of the past five years, by pension type, gender and outcome, including granted, refused, withdrawn and pending; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The number of claims registered, awarded, rejected, withdrawn and pending for each of the years from 2021-2025 inclusive is provided below in tabular format. Claim processing statistics are collated at scheme level and are not broken down by gender. Pending numbers refer to number of claims awaiting decision at the end of the year.
