Capital building projects for the Department of Social Protection are delivered by the Office of Public Works (OPW). The OPW act as agents and technical advisors to the department and have responsibility for the design, procurement and delivery of these projects, ensuring they meet the necessary standards and operational requirements. The department funds some of these projects, in full or in part, via its annual capital allocation.

The department has reviewed the capital project expenditure for the relevant timeframe and I can confirm that the department has not funded or part-funded any capital project exceeding €1 million from 2020 to the present day.
