I propose to take Questions Nos. 2197 and 2198 together.
The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána under Section 33 of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024, which includes the distribution and stationing of Garda personnel throughout the State. The Commissioner is independent in his functions under Section 34 of the Act.
An Garda Síochána publishes information in relation to the allocation of Garda personnel nationally. This includes a breakdown of Community Gardaí assigned to the DMR West Garda Division, which the Blanchardstown Community Engagement Area (formerly known as the K District) is part of, by Garda Division from 2008 to the end of July 2026, the latest date for which figures are available. This can be found at the following links:
Information for 2026 can be found at the following link:

Information for previous years can be found at the following link:

Community Gardaí play a pivotal role in building trust between Gardaí and the public, through visible, responsive policing and open dialogue in neighbourhoods, schools and diverse community groups. It is through this engagement that communities and Gardaí work together to prevent crime and strengthen local resilience.
