Whether it is fixed cameras, average speed cameras or GoSafe vans, the use of technology is a vital component of reducing speeding on our roads.

The aim of road safety cameras across Ireland is to encourage safer driving practices, reduce collisions and protect road users by promoting compliance with speed limits.

Nine static speed safety cameras are in operation across the country since 2024. The locations of these cameras were selected based on fatal and serious injury collision data and speed data, as well as feedback from stakeholders.

I am informed by Garda Authorities that there has been 4,569 Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPN) issued for speeding for the month of July 2026 for this camera.

All information contained in this report is based upon operational data from the FCPS system as was available on 14 August 2026 and is liable to change.
