I propose to take Questions Nos. 2299 and 2300 together.
I am informed by the Garda authorities that 1,950 members of An Garda Síochána are trained as Stinger Operators.
I am further informed that the Garda National Roads Policing Bureau is currently undertaking a national audit of the stock of tyre deflation devices across all Garda Divisions. As such the information requested in relation to the number of devices held in each Division is not currently available.
With regard to the deployment of tyre deflation devices, I am advised that their use is recorded where a device has made contact with a vehicle and/or where a person has been injured. The number of such incidents recorded in each year from 2023 to 3 September 2026 is set out below:
I am advised that these figures are based on operational data available on PULSE system as of 3 September 2026 and are liable to change.
