I propose to take Questions Nos. 2333 and 2335 together.

An Garda Síochána respond to all calls for service and calls are routed through a regional control room and prioritised for response. I can assure the Deputy that Gardaí respond to reports of anti-social behaviour and conduct operations on a continuous basis, targeting people engaged in anti-social activities involving the misuse of e-scooters, along with scramblers and e-bikes in public places. These initiatives are supported by campaigns across various media and social media platforms to highlight the dangers connected with the use of these vehicles.

I have been advised by the Garda authorities that it is not possible to accurately establish the required information sought for data quality reasons.

With respect to fines (Fixed Charge Penalty Notices), the Garda authorities have provided me with the table below which provides a breakdown, by year, of the number of Fixed Charge Notices (FCNs) issued in the DMR West Division for offences related to E-Scooters. This is a subset of the wider category of Electric Powered Personal Transporter (EPPT) offences.

The Garda authorities have also provided me with the table below which provides the number of incidents in which an e-scooter was seized or detained in the DMR West Division.

All data provided for 2026 covers the period until 31 August. All data is operational and liable to change.
