2342. Deputy Micheál Carrigy asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration the status of an application for "Without Condition as to Time" (Stamp 5 permission) submitted on 16 February 2026 by an individual residing in County Longford (details supplied); if he is aware that the individual's prior Stamp 4 permission expired on 15 March 2026, resulting in the loss of their employment; the timeline for the processing team to review the requested documentation covering the past eight years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Domestic Residence and Permissions (DRP) Division is experiencing very high volumes of applications for Without Conditions As To Time (Stamp 5). As a consequence there is currently a delay in processing applications.

The application referred to by the Deputy is currently under consideration. Applications are dealt with in chronological order of when they are received. The applicant can be assured that there will be no avoidable delay in finalising their application and will be contacted as soon as a decision has been reached.

The onus is on the applicants to keep their current permission in date as there is no guarantee of a positive outcome for any application.

The DRP Division issues decisions based on existing immigration policies, all of which can be found on our immigration website: www.irishimmigration.ie. It is only in exceptional circumstances where a WCAT application will be approved outside of these given policies.
