I propose to take Questions Nos. 212 and 213 together.
Funding of up to €250,000 is being made available by the Department in 2026 to support the provision of dog waste infrastructure by local authorities. Eligible projects include the purchase and installation of dog waste bins, dog waste bag dispensers and associated infrastructure. Funding for additional signage may also be considered.
The application made by Monaghan County Council was received on 24 July. All applications are under consideration and individual allocations will issue to local authorities in the coming weeks. The table below provides a full list of the amount requested by each local authority.
